Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will provide scholarships to 8 university students within the scope of the SUMP Izmir project, which is carried out with the European Union with the goal of sustainable transportation and zero carbon by 2050. The deadline for the scholarships called “Young Ambassadors” is November 27.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will provide project scholarships to university students who will contribute to sustainable transportation within the scope of Izmir Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, which is carried out with the European Union (EU). In order for the SUMP Izmir project, which is carried out by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Department of Transportation, to be adopted by the younger generation and for the sustainable transportation habits of young people, 8 university students who meet the criteria will be entitled to receive scholarships. The scholarships will start on December 1, 2023 and will last for 6 months.

Contribution to a sustainable future
The scholars will be responsible for participating in project activities once a week at the İZQ building, designing and conducting SUMPİzmir promotion and information activities at universities, taking part in citizen information activities, creating monthly progress reports on the work carried out, conducting and reporting research on topics to be determined by the administration within the scope of the project.

Scholars will be selected among undergraduate or graduate students from different fields of specialization that can contribute to the project, especially architecture, urban and regional planning, industrial engineering, industrial design, etc. departments from universities in Izmir. Applications can be made to sumpizmir@izmir.bel.tr until Monday, November 27, 2023, 17.00. The application e-mail shall include a current student certificate and transcript, at least 2 letters of reference, and an individual letter of intent regarding the contribution that can be provided to the project. While it is not a problem to attach letters of reference to the e-mail attachment, scholars are expected to speak English at B2-C1 level.
