SUMP Development Process

Sustainable urban mobility plan is a long-term and an iterative process that, while requiring a lot of effort, yields better results than “traditional” transportation planning concepts.  The development of the SUMP consists of a cyclic 12-step process to ensure communication and public engagement with the active participation of stakeholders on all relevant issues.  The aim is to agree on the most reasonable consensus to solve Izmir’s mobility challenges and agree on a process for a change.
